Brothers are back and it's 2021! Brothers Vincent Mary Carrasco and Brandon Berg are together in Amarillo, Texas. Good listeners, thanks for your patience. Br. Vinny has been in Puebla, Mexico on a culture and language immersion.
After some beginning banter on Mexico, the holiday season, and the star of Bethlehem the brothers move into today’s theme; Epiphany and seeking Jesus. The question is: as we seek the star of Jesus, what do we need to leave behind to start out on the journey and what will sustain us on the way?
Brother Brandon mentions that he needs to leave behind himself; as in leave behind distractions, comforts, food, and worry. Br. Vinny mentions he needs to leave behind fear and pick up a new level of awareness. Br. Brandon mentions that devotion to St. Joseph and Mary and a focus on his duties will sustain him throughout this new year.
So dear listener, ask yourself what do you need to leave behind as you seek after Jesus, and what will sustain you in this new year?

In this episode, the Capuchin Bros talk about the beauty of Holy Obedience! It can be difficult at times to just sit down and ‘listen’ to the voice of God; the spirit of God. The bros share some insight about holy obedience from the life and writings of St. Margaret Mary Alcaoque on the Sacred Heart of Jesus. How important it is to sit and listen to the voice of God in our lives, as she did! It can be difficult to trust that the Spirit is leading you, to see that and obey that — We do what we want. Tune in the episode as we talk losing things, water bottles, cracked feet (We know) and… on a more serious note, we talk holiness, obedience, the necessity of being open, aware and intune with the Spirit of God!

In this episode, the Capuchin trio talk about a Friendship with St. Francis, God, the brothers, and the saints. What does it mean to be friends with the Saints or friends with God, even friends with those close to you? Those friendships; authentic, holy, and real Friendships are important for our flourishing in the spiritual life! Challenging, straightforward friendships help us grow — Think of St. Peter, who wrestled with wanting so badly to be friends with God while also giving in to human weakness. What qualities draw us into a deeper friendship with people, the saints and God? Friendship with Jesus centers around the example of St. Peter and his desire to give all to Jesus yet struggling to do so. Jesus calls us his friends in The Gospel of St. John 15:15!
In this episode, the bros share about their friendship with St. Francis and how it began. Br. Vinny shares about his encounter with St. Francis by reading one of his biographies. Br. Luke shares about finding inspiration fo follow Francis after experiencing the deep peace found in Assisi, Italy & Br. Brandon shares about wanting to know more about Francis after experiencing the Capuchin brothers in their daily life.

The Bros are back!! Back in different format, but we’re back! Brother Brandon Berg (Father now!) speaks out his experience at his recent Ordination Liturgy. There was beauty, there was a Solemn Descent of the Holy Spirit, and there was a timing of God that could only be done by him! In this episode, the brothers talk about the perfect timing of God, the providence of God’s care and the impact of the family in our lives. Fr. Brandon shares with us how special it was to be ordained 100 years after his great great uncle, who happened to be the Bishop of Kansas City back in 1920s; An Incredible story by the way.
